Membership Matters
My theme for the year will be Membership Matters, specifically focusing on the benefits of membership in the Raleigh Jaycees. This means that I want to focus on making sure that every meeting and every project we run offers benefits to our members; be it new members, veterans, members with children, lifetime members and even our roosters. I want to know what you want from the chapter and if you elect me as your 2010 President I will make it my priority to work closely with the 2010 team to bring those benefits to every member.
Lifetime Members and Roosters: I know you have years of great Jaycee memories. Perhaps you would like to find news ways to share your experiences with newer members or would like to find ways to continue to support the chapter behind the scenes. These are all ways that you can continue to make a positive impact in the Jaycees.
Jaycees with Families: Maybe you have a desire to help organize more family friendly Jaycee events or have suggestions for how we can increase the benefits of our membership.
Veteran Members:Perhaps you have new project ideas, suggestions for how we can increase the benefits of membership, or other ideas of how we can continue to improve our chapter.
New Members: As one of our newer members, you have the opportunity to bring new projects ideas to our chapter. Perhaps there is a cause you believe in, a hobby you’d like to share or even a trip you’ve wanted to go on for years, but you just needed a group of friends to go with. These are all things that you can do in the Jaycees.
Everything we accomplish in the Raleigh Jaycees is accomplished with our members. It truly is all about our members and we need to strive to work for our members every step of the way. There is a special place for every member in this chapter and one of my goals for this year is to work with every member to find that place.
We can do this by making sure that our members are actively involved in decision making and planning. I'd like to see us host several breakout sessions at meetings so that members can share their ideas and visions for the chapter. I hope to create a community where every member feels like they are valued. A community where members feel confident taking chances and sharing their passions. |
